The Minikin Japanese Hemlock is a fun tree for the miniature garden simply because it's already a "miniature tree!" The tiny foliage is the perfect scale, perched just so on the wee branches. It's just too cute.
Slow growing and globe-shaped when young, it'll become more oval shaped when it's grown up - but that'll take years. Meanwhile, we can enjoy it in our miniature gardens in cool sun or part shade - in containers or in-ground.
- Growth rate is 3" to 6" per year
- Cold hardy Zones: 4-8 or -30F
- Heat zones: 8-1
- Part sun to bright shade
- Regular water if in a pot, likes to stay a little damp
- Do not let it dry out
- Fertilize after 2 years if planted in a container
- Comes in a 4” pot
- An outdoor plant
