Prostrate / Spreading

A prostrate shrub grows low along the ground, with branches spreading or laying flat, as it grows. We've found this type of shrub is perfect for the miniature garden as it doesn't grow "up" - just "out." Many of them can be pruned to stay in check, and last for years in a container. In-ground, plant it where you want it to spread, creating a middle-layer in your garden design.
