A very fun little shrub that hasn't been on the availability list for years. The Hedgehog Miniature White Spruce is a true miniature shrub that grows 1" per year in the cooler regions.
The gray-blue-green foliage is a wonderful color and looks sharp with any green colors or complement it with foliage in pinks and reds. New growth that pops out in spring is a lighter shade of green.
Well behaved, fun to grow and a great little shrub for full sun. Just be sure to keep the garden watered in the hot summer months if it's planted in a container.
In-ground, it should be drought tolerant after a full year of care but make sure it gets water in the dry months as most conifers like their roots to stay cool and damp.
