Upright Seedling Mugo Pine - Pinus mugo 'Upright Seedling'

This mugo is upright narrow in growth shape that can grow in to a tree shape faster than our other globe-shaped mugos. The dense branches grows-in and up like pillows to form a wonderful looking tree adding a completely different texture to the miniature garden. It is a seedling from Columnaris Mugo Pine and looks similar - see the right-most photo of the Columnaris.  

Let them dry out a bit in between watering sessions if they are grown in a container, to avoid over-watering.

The Upright Seedling Mugo Pine can tolerate a more sun and drier soil than the Hinoki and the Spruce, but never let the soil dry out completely when in a container. In-ground, they will establish themselves after one full year of care. Protect these trees from extremes while they are young.

• Cold hardy zones 3-7, or to -40F

• Regular water

• Let dry out a bit in between to avoid over watering
• Shelter from the hot, summer afternoon sun while they are little
