Largest grain is about .25mm - in inches that's really tiny. This is the good stuff, consistent in size and super clean. This sand is only available here in the Northwest and harvested from a receding glacier in the Cascade Mountain Range. Great for the miniature dollhouse or garden railroads, because the scale is so perfect.

HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED?
One ounce of sand equals about 1 square inch.
For a patio that is 4" x 2" --> 4 x 2 = 8 square inches. So you will need 8 ounces or 1/2 lb of sand. This is for a 1" deep patio so if you don't need it that deep, it will go a bit farther.
