Prostrate Beauty Deodar Cedar - Cedrus deodara 'Prostrate Beauty'

The Prostrate Beauty Deodar Cedar combines a spreading/draping habit with wonderful blue foliage that will soften and contrast nicely with the other plants in your miniature garden and add a completely different texture. The needles will keep their soft, feathery look as they mature too. 

It's another tree bonsai enthusiasts use for their work so we know it will do well in our miniature gardens with a bit of pruning. If you don't want to "bonsai it," leave it to grow into a wonderful mid-size conifer after many, many years. It'll develop a leader with age unless you prune it to stay low. 

This variety can take more sun than the 'Snow Sprite' but I do believe it enjoys evenly damp soil as well. It might be able to handle drier soil if well-established in the garden bed but, to be sure, water it in the dry months.
