Gold Strike Juniper - Juniperus horizontalis 'Gold Strike'

The Gold Strike Juniper is a surprisingly a great dwarf shrub for the miniature garden. It's a ground cover shrub that stays low to the ground and the new growth reaches out slowly, never upwards, only sideways, at 2" to 4" per year. It's easy to control, just trim any wayward branches.

The bright yellow color will last until the colder temps turn the foliage to a bronze-purple. In spring, the soft, brilliant yellow foliage will emerge through the chartreuse leaves to make a sparkling display and the cycle continues.

Unlike most junipers, protect this one from the hot afternoon scorching sun in the warmer climates by planting it on the east or north side of the house.
