The Dancing Pixies Saxifrage is a very versatile little grower for the miniature garden. It can be grown indoors and outdoors. It's a forgiving plant with great foliage-color. It blooms the sweetest little flowers, it's tough and hardy!

Check out the photos without the flowers and you can appreciate the year-round color-show. The bright pink underside of the leaves and the stems that simply sing with the deep, varying green colors of the foliage. Such fun in such a little plant.

The leaves grow bigger when they are happy - and smaller in the winter. The flowers pop-up from the the foliage and are just as happy and colorful.

AND this plant can be grown inside too.

  • Mounding habit but seems to take awhile
  • 4 to 6" tall - taller when flowering
  • Blooms in spring but I've found it blooms at other times as well
  • Spreads to about 6 to 10"
  • Pinch back dying leaves to keep it tidy
  • Requires moist soil - shade will help with this
  • Part sun - 4 to 6 hours of sun, avoid that hot afternoon sun
  • Cold zones 5 through 7 or hardy to -30F
  • Heat Zones 7 through 5

  • Can be grown indoors with evenly damp soil
  • Provide bright light, no direct sun

  • Water it less in the winter, more in the spring and summer
  • An outdoor and indoor plant
