Papoose Sitka Dwarf Spruce - Picea sitchensis 'Papoose'

A new conifer to love! The handsome Papoose Spruce is a dwarf relative of the Sitka Spruce from Alaska. It's a much-slower growing dwarf variety, found on Vancouver Island, so we can enjoy it in our miniature gardens and landscapes while it takes its time reaching its mature size. (Full maturity at 20 to 30+ years apparently.)

The two-toned blue-green needles arch nicely out of the branches - it really is a handsome little shrub. It may develop a central leader and gradually take on a broadly conical shape.

Spring growth is lime green that matures into that silvery blue color with green undersides.
