New Zealand Brass Buttons - Leptinella squalida 'New Zealand'

Pretty! Looks like miniature ferns for the miniature garden! But it's a ground cover perennial and hardy. The serrated edges on tiny 1-inch-long leaves lay almost flat on the ground. 

This plant turns greener in the shade and browner in the sun. The subtle color combination is really pretty.

SEPTEMBER 2026 - Plants are young won't "run" for another year.

Prune judiciously when it starts to "run" in two or three years by trimming the runners just under the soil. (Pull gently or cut.)

Or, divide it every 2 to 3 years to interrupt the invasive habit to keep it in check.
