Long, glossy, mop-head tendrils bring whimsy to the miniature garden, garden railroad or fairy garden. It's an interesting collectible conifer too. The Whipcord wears a deep green in summer that turns bronze in colder areas for the winter.
A tough, dynamic conifer that demonstrates some deer resistance and tolerates dry soil — great for a part-shady spot too.
At 2", this is the perfect size to start an entirely tiny-scale garden of its own that will last for years — or to tuck in as a smaller accent layer alongside our 4" trees, adding depth and variety to your design without crowding it.
- Light: Full sun to part shade
- Shape: Globe
- Growth rate: 3"–5" per year
- Cold hardy Zone 5–8 or -20°F
- Heat zones 8–6
This is a young plant and will need a little extra shelter from weather extremes while it gets established.
**Last photo shows how it will look in 4 to 5 years.
General Info:
- While they're young, avoid hot summer afternoon sun when planted in a container
- Let container soil dry out to barely damp in between watering
