Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper - Juniperus procumbens 'Nana'

A spreading juniper trained as "pre-bonsai" so we know we will enjoy it as a miniature garden tree or shrub - dependent upon how you'll grow it. Leave this one to cascade down the side of a pot or rockery, or keep it trimmed to maintain that bonsai'd look. 

It grows prostrate (sideways) and that always makes an excellent miniature shrub for the under-story of the miniature garden bed. It will naturally stay about 4" tall

"Pre-bonsai" means it has been grown to give you a head start for creating your own bonsai tree, the cultivars have been staked and manipulated at a young age to create early movement and unique shape.

Keep the overall shape in-check easily by shearing after the growth period in spring. You can shear it again in winter if needed or to help slow down the growth rate even further.

Junipers are one of the hardiest conifers. They can handle the full, hot sun in stride, they are cold-hardy to -40F and are drought tolerant too. They are great for containers or in-ground.
