Maidenhair Spleenwort Fern - Asplenium trichomanes

This little gem is apparently growing worldwide around the globe but its only recently rocked our world of gardening in miniature. After growing it in our miniature gardens for over 2 years now, it's officially a favorite! It's VERY well behaved, grows slowly, very tolerant of dry conditions and VERY pretty. 

It will grow a little taller than it is in the pot, but there is no getting around just how awesome it looks. Compact, delightful and apparently incredibly tough once established in the miniature garden - in-ground or in containers.

Use it in the shade or part shade. Cold-hard to zone 3 or -40F!

• Evergreen, clip away deteriorating branches in early spring

• Spreads slowly
• Transplant clumps in fall or early spring

• Mature height is 6 to 10 inches
• Hardy to zones 3 through 9
• Heat hardy 8 thru 3
• Part or full shade, dappled shade
• Keep soil well drained but evenly moist, do not let it dry out completely if planted in a pot
• In-ground, will be drought tolerant once established
• Pot is 4" wide
