Cumulus Sawara Cypress - Chameacyparis pisifera 'Cumulus'

Regular price $14.99

'Cumulus' is a true miniature with a growth rate of less than 1" per year. It has a light, tufted cloud with dense, soft foliage that stays soft in maturity too. The shrub appears to look more gray in the sun, yet greener in the shade; it's the way the sun dances on its leaves.

Shear it back in late winter to keep the globe-shape. If you let it grow naturally without shearing, it will grow into a tall, leggy shrub that is great for a country garden theme.

Check often for 'conifer-dieback' by gently parting the branches and clearing out the dead leaves that held inside the shrub. It's the way the plant exfoliates. As it gets older and the branches grow out, this will be much easier to do.

Can be trained into a topiary too!
